Republicans who skipped the convention are having a grand old time

If last-place night’s contentious presentation at the Republican National Convention proved anything, it’s that this year’s GOP selecting process is remarkably watchable.

But there used to be many Republican who wanted to stay far away.

Agreeing with Ted Cruz and those in the #NeverTrump move, many prominent GOP commanders from the House, Senate and beyond chose to expend these four periods away from Cleveland. They did not want to get anywhere close to the freshly selected Republican presidential nominee, Donald Trump.

Past leaders of the party, a full 18 Republican senators and three out of the four former GOP presidential candidates either made up condones for why they couldn’t travel or just said they were unavailable.

But social media tells all.

Looking around at politicians’ social media reports, it was interesting to see what they would rather do than hearten on the prospect of a Trump presidency

Pennsylvania Sen. Pat Toomey “d rather” grab some Chick-fil-A.

Nebraska Sen. Ben Sasse “d rather” tend to his corn field.

Pennsylvania Rep. Ryan Costello would rather hang out with some cows.

New Hampshire Sen. Kelly Ayotte would rather go to the beach.

Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul would rather have a < em> great time at the Possum Trot Quickmart.

Arizona Sen. John McCain “d rather” visualize the Grand Canyon.

Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake would rather mow his lawn.

Pennsylvania Rep. Mike Fitzpatrick would rather travel golfing.

South Dakota Sen. John Thune “d rather” get a Blizzard at the DQ.

My favorite region to stop on a red-hot summertime period in SD. Thanks to the staff at the Mobridge DQ for the blizzard .

Kansas Sen. Jerry Moran “d rather” go to the fair.

Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski would, also, instead go fishing.

Walked the Kenai beach as the dipnetters enjoyed a fabulous Alaskan weekend. Fishing might have been slow, but the sunshine was great .

Between all the coverage of Melania Trump’s plagiarism, Ted Cruz going rascal and Trump trying to smooch his running teammate, they probably know everything that happened anyway.

Hope you caught some large-scale ones!
